Concert Volunteers, Kickball, Movie Night, and More!

we need you

Good morning, Archway Lincoln families! It’s hard to believe we’re already half-way through November…where does the time go? There is a lot on tap at Lincoln over the next three days and we require the help of our amazing parent families to make all of the upcoming events a success.

We know this is a busy time of year, but we always need the assistance of our generous parent community. Without your help, we cannot have these events.

kickballReminder: Kickball Game Permission Slips

On Friday, we have our Student/Teacher Kickball Game for all students who raised $100 or more (or had 10+ sponsors) during our 2nd annual Read-a-Thon. However, Coach Cook has not received all the permission slips required for your child to participate.

If your child qualified for the kickball game, but your child hasn’t turned in their permission slip yet, please email Coach Cook and let him know your child can play. Remember, if your child is participating, they must bring a pack lunch that day. Students playing kickball cannot pick up a hot lunch at the lunch counter.

Volunteer for Kickball or Watch the Game

Remember, too, that you can come and WATCH your child play, as well! The games start at 11:15 a.m. on the main field. Students will play for a half-hour, then eat lunch on the field from 11:45 to 12:15 p.m.  Bring a blanket, a folding chair, and a picnic lunch to share with your child after the game. You do NOT need fingerprint clearance to watch the game.

Better yet, volunteer! Join your child and their friends on the field as they play. We still need four umpires and some “team assistants” to help keep the game moving along. View this sign up if you can help. It’s from 11:15 – 12:15 p.m., perfect for an early lunch hour. Your child will LOVE having you “on their team!”

Thursday Night Music Concert Book Collection Volunteers

41161136 - colorful books drawing library collectionThe theme of this fall’s music concert revolves around the books our children are reading in class. To carry this theme forward, the music department is sponsoring a used book drive to benefit our library and classrooms. However, we need a few parent volunteers to help collect books before the concerts.

Ideally, we’ll have a few parents before the K-2 concert, then the 3-5 concert, collect the used books and help bring them to the library afterwards. It’s just a few minutes of your time and you’ll be at the concert already, so why not use this opportunity to help? View the sign-up and put your name down to help make this night a big success.

Friday Movie Night

screen-shot-2016-10-18-at-8-26-26-pmDon’t forget this Friday is our first Movie Night! We’ll be showing the original 1982 version of “Annie” with Aileen Quinn and Albert Finney. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie starts at 7:00.

This event, generously sponsored by the Leger Family, will have popcorn, Dippin’ Dots, and snacks from our snack bar. The playground will be open (and well-lit), too, for the kids who need to move around.

We could use a few parents to help man the snack bar and provide supervision on the playground. The shifts are short — just 30 minutes — and we only need a few parents for each shift. If you’ve wanted to volunteer, but can’t make it to the school during regular school hours, here’s the perfect opportunity for you to help. View the sign-up genius and volunteer if you can.

Thank you in advance for helping make all of these events a huge success!
