Birthday Book Club, Uniform Donations, and More!

thank youGood morning, Archway Lincoln families. As we close out this inaugural school year, I would like to thank each and every one of you who donated your time, effort, and expertise to make our first year a successful one. The things PSO offered this year, including many fun events, a robust lunch program, and a successful library campaign, typically happen in subsequent school years, not in the first year as we did at Lincoln, and it’s all because of YOU! We hope you’ll remain involved in PSO and will continue to volunteer in the classroom, at events, or in other ways that benefit the school. Your participation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference in the lives of our children, their teachers, and staff.

On behalf of the entire PSO Board, thank you.

Birthday Book Club for May/June on Tuesday, May 24th

libraryParents whose children have May or June birthdays, please join us Tuesday, May 24th at 2:15 p.m. in the library to celebrate birthdays!

If you have not made your child’s contribution for the Birthday Book Club yet, please send it to their teacher in a sealed envelope with your child’s name on it labeled “[Student Name] Birthday Book Club.” You can also turn in your donation on the day of the event.

If your child is celebrating this month, consider helping by bringing in goodies or arriving early to help set up for the event. Check out the sign-up genius and help if you can.

Please remember, any treats brought by volunteers must be store-bought with an ingredients label. Because we want all children to participate fully, if your child has an allergy, please make sure they come with a treat just for them.

We are looking forward to a wonderful celebration with your children!

Used Uniform Collection

uniformsDuring the last week of school, PSO will be collecting clean, gently used uniforms at drop-off each day. Simply bag up the clothing in a plastic shopping bag and give to your children. They will drop it in a bin just before entering the school.

When we have mended and repaired all the clothing we get, we’ll let you know when it’ll be on sale. If you have any questions or would like to help us launder and repair the clothing, please email Archway Lincoln PSO.

First and Fourth Grade Parents – Pay it Forward!

Screen Shot 2016-05-13 at 2.33.10 PMIn what we hope will be a new tradition at Archway Lincoln, we are asking 1st and 4th Grade Parents to help set up, monitor, and clean up refreshment tables at Kinder and 5th Grade Commencement so those parents can enjoy this special time with their children. Think of this as paying it forward…someday it will be your child at commencement and you won’t want to be chained to the refreshments table! Thank you in advance for helping.

First Grade parents should view this sign up for the details.

Fourth Grade parents should view this sign up for the details.

Mid-Summer Family Fun Night at Peter Piper Pizza

pppLogoYour PSO is already working on events and activities for 2016-17. The first event will be another mid-summer Family Fun Night at Peter Piper Pizza on Alma School and Queen Creek on Friday, July 29th. We’ll send out reminders as the summer progresses, but go ahead and pencil it into your calendar now! We had a great time last summer and it was wonderful for all the new families to come together and meet and for students to find friends before the first day of school even started.
