megaphoneGood morning, Archway Lincoln families. There are many announcements in this post, including information about Read-a-Thon activities, Family Fun Night, Feed My Starving Children, and more, so please read through to the end. Have a wonderful week!

PSO Meeting Recap

We had a fantastic PSO meeting on Wednesday, Dec 2nd. Carrie Amador talked about Tourettes Syndrome. Her presentation was fantastic and incredibly informative. We will try to post her presentation on the PSO website for anyone who was unable to attend.

In addition, Dr. Mitchell, our new headmaster, spoke and answered questions. If you have yet to meet him, do reach out and introduce yourself. He will be an amazing asset to the Lincoln community.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

blue help wantedThere are still volunteer opportunities in the lunchroom and the front office for the rest of December. Please, if you have a few hours to spare, consider coming in to help. View the Lunchroom and Office sign-ups to volunteer.

You’ll soon see sign-ups for January lunchroom and office, too.

In the next week, we’ll be sending out sign-ups for providing breakfast and lunch during teacher conferences the first week we’re back from the holiday break. Keep checking the PSO website or your inbox for information.

Read-A-Thon Update

Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 9.53.26 PMYou have helped us raise an amazing $8,800 so far! We’re over the halfway point with a week and a half to go, so please reach out to friends and family if you haven’t yet and help us achieve our goal of $15,000.

We have some amazing readers, too! The official READING portion of the Read-a-Thon began last Thursday and so far our students have logged over SEVEN THOUSAND MINUTES! Our top reader is Kaitlynn Ng with over 900 minutes! Awesome reading, Kaitlynn!

Stay tuned for new incentives announced by PSO for the best READERS in the school! They will be revealed in the coming days!

You’ll also receive information at the end of the Read-a-Thon about how the incentives will be implemented.

Keep reading and earning, Archway Lincoln! You’re doing great!

Feed My Starving Children Service Event

fmsc-logoThe FMSC service event is this coming Saturday, December 12th from 2-4 p.m. in Mesa. If you tried to sign up and there were no available slots, check again, as some people have cancelled. As of Monday evening, there were 8 slots available, and more may open up this week as we communicate with FMSC.

You can view the sign-up and more information about FMSC here.

Family Fun Night Wednesday, Dec 9th @ Paradise Bakery

The flyer should come home in your child’s backpack, but you can also print and download the flyer here: ParadiseBakery

See you Wednesday night!

Shop (and Earn) for the Holidays!

Instead of simply spending money this holiday season, spend it and help Archway Lincoln PSO earn a little bit, too! There are lots of ways to save, all of them detailed on this handy, printable flyer. Check it out!

Tis the Season to be Passive Fundraising

Needed: Web Guru. Are You Technical? A Good Writer? Have a Marketing Background?

PSO is looking for someone to take over our website. It’s not complicated and really not technical (although having a tech or blogging background is a plus). Currently, we’re using WordPress as our platform.

The site needs to be updated one or two times a week, but it can be done in advance (i.e., schedule the updates) and in the comfort of your own home (and jammies!). PSO leadership will let you know what has to be updated when.

If you’re interested, please email Archway Lincoln PSO. Thank you in advance for your help!
